Web-Based

The new UDS is a web-based system. The data is stored on a secured, password protected site.

Collect Data on Normal Birth.

The UDS is not limited to birth centers and midwives. It is designed to collect data on home, birth center, and hospital births. It also collects data on all types of birth providers: CNMs, CPMs, Family Physicians, Obstetricians, and more.

Reports at the Push of a Button.

The following pre-programmed reports are part of the UDS:

  1. Comprehensive Practice Statistic Report

Create a comprehensive outcome and utilization report for your practice; this report is filtered by birth sites and dates.

  2. CABC Report

Create the report required by the CABC for birth center accreditation.

  3. Benchmarking Report

Provide outcome and utilization data for completing the ACNM Benchmarking Report.

  4. Registration Log

Create and print a monthly list of clients who are due.

  5. Delivery Log

With your data in the UDS, you can create/update your delivery log in minutes. This meets the CABC criteria for a delivery log.

  6. Custom Reports

Run customized queries and reports on your data.

  7. Incomplete Records Report

This report helps you keep track of your data entry.  It provides a report of clients with forms needing completion.

Export Data

Select to export data from forms to a CSV file so that it can be imported to programs like SPSS, Access and Excel.

Real Time Data

Once a record is approved, this data is available not only to the individual birth center but also to AABC for analysis. AABC has immediate access to your data. We can respond to queries and challenges with timely data from birth centers, as well as publish data on a regular and consistent basis. This will be enormously helpful as AABC works on legislative levels for birth centers and midwives.

Participate in the National Study of Optimal Birth

Be a part of this groundbreaking study.

HIPAA Compliant

We have designed the UDS to be HIPAA compliant. AABC cannot view identifying information of your clients.

Prospective Data Identified

All data that is entered prospectively is marked prospective for analysis purpose. You may also enter data retrospectively.

UDS is a Valuable Tool

"The UDS is a valuable tool that allows birth centers to collect, in a systematic fashion, data about what is happening in their individual practices. It also gathers the data nationally so research can be done to evaluate the birth center concept."
