3 Things You Need to Know
Putting Research in the Hands of Birth Center Staff
Webinar Wednesday - April 19th at 1:00PM ET
Research is a familiar and valuable concept to midwives and birth centers. Data reporting and program evaluation are not just for universities – birth centers and midwifery clinics are perfectly capable of conducting investigations that provide further insight into the beneficial impact of their care models and demonstrate this impact to funders and collaborators.
Join Dr. Sarah Sanders for a review some basic concepts and strategies in conducting health research, including study design and ethics, with a particular focus on how birth centers can leverage their own data to inform and promote the services provided.
Webinar Wednesday is a FREE benefit of AABC Membership. Guests may attend for a fee. Registration is required.
Take Action to Support Federal Funding for Birth Centers and Midwives
AABC is partnering with NACPM and ACNM to request funding for midwifery education and birth center startups. The appropriations for next year are being voted on this week in the House.
Last week AABC asked advocates to call their House Representatives, now AABC is asking people to once again use their power of their voice and call their Senators. The Senate appropriations for next year will be submitted in early April.
Use AABC’s easy, automated system to call your 2 Senators and then send them an email from AABC with one click. Thank you for your support!
Spring It On! to Raise Funds to Advance Birth Centers
It is time for the AABCF Spring It On! Challenge. Join the AABC Foundation for a 30 day virtual marathon in the Grand Canyon as we fundraise to advance the birth center model and improve maternity care in the U.S.
Now in its 5th year, the Spring It On! AABCF Challenge runs April 1-30. Participants from all over the U.S. can exercise at home and log their time online to see their virtual progress on the race map. This year our route will take us rim to rim through the breathtaking Grand Canyon. This is a fun, community-strengthening fundraising event.
We hope you will join Team AABC on the trail!
