The Industry Relations Committee presents

How to connect your birth center to insurance industry payers & purchasers: Stories & Advice from the Field

Sunday, October 8: 2:30PM - 6:00PM

Birth centers must be their own champions to purchasers in order to influence payers. Hear birth center leaders' stories, challenges, and lessons learned in advancing their message to employers, public purchasers, health plans and others that helped them obtain successful contracts in their markets. After hearing from a panel of leader you will be given tools to develop your own strategies and work plan. We will then break out into groups for a constructive and tactical give and take in developing birth center plans for each participant. Some of the key informants will include Kendra Wyatt from New Birth Company in Kansas City, Dr. Steve Calvin and Tricia Balazovic from Minnesota Birth Centers, Alice Taylor and Shilo McKenzie from Bright Eyes Midwifery in Gold Beach Oregon. Participants will leave with a set of action steps and work plan to begin to promote their birth centers in their own markets.

Participants who register for the workshop and submit a written request for consultation by September 1, 2017 may be eligible to receive two hours of personal consultation after the conference ends.
