AABC Statement on Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization

AABC News Release,

The American Association of Birth Centers is both saddened and frustrated with the recent Supreme Court ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson which overturns the historic 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. AABC stands firm in the knowledge that healthcare access is an essential human right. Reproductive healthcare encompass the full scope of choices and options for people capable of pregnancy. We are dedicated to supporting the sovereignty of all in making individual healthcare decisions. Our country is in the midst of a maternal health crisis, particularly for Black, Brown and Indigenous people; therefore this Supreme Court decision is even more devastating. In alignment with our Mission, Vision and Core Values to dismantle systemic racism and white supremacy while improving access and equity, we will continue to support birth centers in providing full scope counseling, informed consent, support and care to their communities.
