North Carolina - Midwifery Director & Staff Midwife

Asheville Birth and Wellness Center (www.ashevillebirth.com) recently opened its midwifery group and birth center under Lilac Health. Since its opening in March of 2023, our team and client base has grown exponentially, delivering babies and serving over 100 clients who are cared for by our dedicated staff. Lilac Health  is seeking a  full-time midwife  and clinical director.

Salary and Benefits: TBD based on experience and qualification. Relocation allowance or sign-up bonus plus health benefits.

The role includes:
Direct clinical care, on-call coverage as well as overseeing day to day clinical operations, 
Clinical staffing, training, and building relationships with professional community partners
Responsible for the employment, training, and supervision of the licensed professional staff consisting of midwives (CNMs), a birth assistant manager, birth assistants (CPMs), FNP, nurses, lactation consultants, sonographers and educators to ensure quality standard of care and regulatory compliance with CABC standards and policies and guidelines. 

Qualifications for Full Time Midwifery Director:
Currently licensed as a CNM in North Carolina or eligible to apply to practice in the state;
At least 5 years of midwifery clinical experience and/or part time midwifery directorship;
At least 3 years of midwifery administrative experience preferred;
Birth center / out of hospital experience strongly preferred, but all candidates with solid midwifery and leadership experience will be considered;
Demonstrates leadership abilities and positive approach to teamwork;
Independently motivated to make a positive impact; and
Has current certification or recent expiration of adult and infant BLS and NRP.

Full time position includes participating in the call schedule as well as office clinic days, plus administrative time.  Benefits include continuing education reimbursement, licensing and dues,  PTO - vacation and health insurance benefits for full time employees with an option to add family coverage.
