Present at the 2023 AABC Birth Institute

The AABC Program Committee is accepting proposals to present at the 2023 AABC Birth Institute to be held October 12-15, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. The conference is themed "Birth Centers - An Oasis in the Desert. Restoration. Nourishment. Sustainability."

The annual convention of the American Association of Birth Centers, The AABC Birth Institute is the nation's premier conference for birth centers and brings together about 200 birth advocates from across the nation.

We welcome abstracts that address clinical issues and administrative challenges for birth center providers/administrators, and others developing innovative solutions in maternity care. Whenever possible, abstract submissions should include content about racism and health disparities, social determinants of health, and diversity and inclusion.

Deadline to apply is March 3, 2023.

Learn directly from industry experts with AABC’s Curbside Consulting. These weekly group consulting calls, hosted by each of the AABC How to Start a Birth Center workshop faculty are an opportunity to get answers to your questions, learn from your peers, and keep your birth center plans moving forward.

Curbside Consulting is open to all. Developing Birth Center, Established Birth Center, and Alongside Midwifery Unit members have free unlimited access to Curbside Consulting.

Apply for Scholarship to Attend How to Start a Birth Center Workshop

Amy Ellen Polk Memorial Scholarship

Do you want to attend the AABC How to Start a Birth Center Workshop but need financial assistance to do so? Apply for the AABC Foundation's Amy Ellen Polk Memorial Scholarship.

The AABC Foundation plans to multiple scholarships which are provided in the form of a tuition grant to attend an AABC How to Start a Birth Center Workshop. The comprehensive workshop is offered in two formats online and in-person. The online course allows you to complete it at your own pace, in your own home. The in-person workshop is a two-day, hands-on conference in a major U.S. city. In 2023, the in-person workshop will be offered in Tucson, Arizona in conjunction with the annual AABC Birth Institute. An additional travel stipend is awarded if the recipient is attending an in-person workshop.
