CNM needed in Alaska for Birth Center and Hospital Practice

We at Geneva Woods Birth Center are looking for a full-time CNM to join our practice in Anchorage, Alaska.

You would be joining a small, collaborative team of 2–3 other CNMs, attending births in our CABC-accredited birth center as well as at both local hospitals, and providing full-scope well-women care to our non-pregnant clients. You would also be practicing alongside a multidisciplinary team of NPs, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists, a Nutritionist, and Licensed Professional Counselor. This kind of collaborative, trauma-informed, midwifery-model care environment is an amazing place to learn and thrive as a clinician! 2+ years of experience is preferred, but we will consider (as well as support and mentor) recent graduates as well.

Alaska is a wonderful state in which to be a midwife! We have a high degree of independence, great back-up doctors, and a good working relationship with the hospitals. Anchorage has a wonderful mix of big-city amenities and wilderness access, all within 20 minutes of anywhere in town. Anchorage is also a haven of temperate weather in the summer amidst heat waves that now regularly ravage the contiguous  US – but is also a relatively short flight from Hawai’i when one needs a break from the winter. Alaska has been ranked the #1 “happiest state” in the Gallup Healthways Well-Being Index Report for many years, and our quality of life here – especially for those who enjoy the outdoors – is practically unparalleled.

We offer competitive salary (DOE, but bottom of range still reaches $100k within first year), 401k, health insurance, relocation bonus, paid vacation, and can tailor a compensation package to include [taxable] tuition reimbursement as well. Ownership opportunities can also be made available to the right individual(s) after a suitable period of time as an employee. We would very much like to start someone here by June.
