This presentation will discuss the overview of VACCN including referral process, billing information and how to follow-up on issues. Panelists will discuss the VA Community Care Network including the overview of the program. Participants will also learn how to bill for the services, referral process, etc. And the difference between VACCN and Tricare will be reviewed.
Olga Ryan, RN, MS-NL has been an NRP instructor for more than 20 years and has been teaching NRP in the out-of-hospital birth setting since 2006. She is an experienced birth center leader having served as manager of the El Rio Birth & Women’s Health Center for 10 years and more recently as the director of Babymoon Inn, LLC in Tucson, AZ. She is a Vice-Chairperson with the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers and has been a member of AABC’s Standards Committee. Olga has served in nursing leadership positions in a variety of perinatal units since 1994, with a special interest in process improvement projects.
Karen DiGiovanni is a Region 3 Network Lead for Optum Serve. She has been with UHG for 17 years. Prior to joining UHG, Karen worked on the provider side at two different health systems.
Rachel Beglan is based in Washington, DC/Baltimore suburban area and joined UnitedHealthcare in 2003, most recently as the Northeast Regional Ancillary Contracting Lead, leading a team that managed contracting and service of a variety of Ancillary and HCBS provider types. Prior to United and Optum, Rachel worked for competing Payers, and an academic health system in Western PA.
