How to Start a Birth Center Workshop (Tucson 2023)

Attend the in-person AABC How to Start a Birth Center Workshop on October 11-12, 2023 at the Hilton El Conquistor in Tucson, AZ. This workshop immediately preceded the 2023 AABC Birth Institute.

Taught by leaders in the birth center industry, the AABC How to Start a Birth Center workshops are interactive and informative. They address the many issues you need to consider when exploring the development of a birth center including:

• financial management
• budgeting
• community assessment
• marketing
• next steps.

Each registration includes a comprehensive digital library of tools and resources to help you through the development process.

Conference Hotel

The workshop will be held at El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort in Tucson, AZ. The hotel offers a group AABC participants a group rate of $189 single/double, which is inclusive of the daily resort charge ($29).

About the conference location - The conference is being held at a hotel called El Conquistador, which is located on the ancestral lands of the Tohono O’odham Nation and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. We recognize the discomfort this may cause due to the history of colonial violence against Indigenous Peoples. This is not congruent with AABC’s core values of anti-racism and cultural humility. When we contracted with the hotel 2 years ago, we did not have the lens to consider the name in our selection process. We recognize now how problematic this name is and apologize for the harm this may cause. Unfortunately, AABC does not have the resources to break our hotel contract at this point. Moving forward, we commit to incorporating racial justice values in our review and selection process.

Policies

Child Care Policy - Because this is an intensive two-day workshop, we ask that, out of respect for others, participants arrange for childcare (including infants) for education sessions for the How to Start a Birth Center Workshop.
