Job Summary:

The Staff Licensed Midwife will provide comprehensive prenatal, birth, and postpartum care to clients, newborn care, supporting natural childbirth and promoting maternal and infant health. The Midwife will be a team player, have strong interpersonal skills, adhere to state regulations, and uphold the highest standards of midwifery practice.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide prenatal care, including assessments, education, and counseling to expectant mothers.
  • Assist with physiological labor and birth, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mother and baby.
  • Conduct immediate postpartum care, including monitoring recovery and newborn health.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with Washington State regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare providers, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Educate clients on pregnancy, birth options, breastfeeding, and postpartum wellness.
  • Stay updated on the latest midwifery practices and state licensing requirements.
  • Adhere to all Washington State laws and regulations governing midwifery practice.
  • Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) certification and licensed in Washington State or currently qualifying for licensure in Washington State (with our assistance in obtaining licensure).
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience in a lead midwife
