Position type: Full-time, salaried staff position (exempt)
Start Date: As early as Dec 2026; interested candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of their preferred start timeline
Summary of Initial Pay & Benefits:
- $91,520 salary (pay is monthly and evenly divided each month of the year)
- $5,250 student loan repayment benefit (this is only available if you have unpaid student loans, benefit guaranteed for the first year)
- $3,000 starting bonus
- $4,000 retention bonus after 12 months of full time employment
- $7,200 employee health insurance
- TOTAL PACKAGE = $110,970
Expectations:
- We accept up to 12 due dates per month if we have 4 midwives on staff and up to 15 due dates per month if we have 5 midwives on staff.
- Each full time midwife works 20 shifts every 4 week period. One shift is either 24 hours on call or a full clinic day.
- A full time midwife should anticipate providing care to 3-5 labors/births each 4 week period.
- The on call midwife must remain within 30 minutes of the birth center if labor may be imminent and within 60 minutes if no labors are anticipated.
Birth Center Midwife Fellowship Program:
Paid six month Midwifery Fellowship available for new graduates and midwives without adequate prior community-birth experience. The Midwifery Fellowship provides extra mentorship and support opportunities. At the end of the Fellowship, the midwife may continue in a long-term position if all fellowship training expectations are met.
